Statewide single-family and commercial HPWH incentives are available as of October 31, 2023. Central HPWH will be available March 12, 2024. A complete refresh of TECH HPWH rules, processes, and list of qualified products can be found here.
As of March 7, 2024, incentives for single family market-rate heat pump water heaters are nearly reserved for customers of publicly owned utilities. Therefore, March 7, 2024, is the last day to make sales and create claims to reserve incentives. Customer Terms and Conditions signed March 7, 2024 or prior are eligible for incentives.
As of February 6 and February 9, 2024, single family market-rate HPWH incentives are fully reserved for electric IOU customers in PG&E gas service area and for SMUD electric customers in PG&E gas service area, respectively. Claims created after those dates in these territories are not eligible for market-rate incentives. Equity incentives in these service areas are not impacted and are still available.
