Creating Pathways to Achieve California's Climate Goals
TECH Clean California includes incentives that are funded directly by TECH Clean California, as well as those that are from other funding streams, including HEEHRA rebates, Central Coast Community Energy’s Electrify Your Home (3CE EYH) incentives, and BayREN Contractor midstream incentives.
Incentives offered through TECH Clean California are available for contractors installing heat pumps and heat pump water heaters to qualifying customers throughout the state of California. Each funding source may have different eligibility requirements.

Recent Updates
HEEHRA Rebates Resumes Processing Approved Reservations
California is resuming the state’s Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEEHRA) Program. TECH Clean California will continue to process single family claims with approved reservations and will soon resume processing single family reservations that were submitted prior to February 26, 2025. The program will then open to new income verifications and rebate reservations in the coming weeks. Click here for more information.
TECH Single Family Heat Pump HVAC Incentive Availability
As of January 17, 2025, TECH Clean California Single Family Heat Pump HVAC incentives are fully reserved; therefore, January 17, 2025, is the last day to sell jobs and create reservations. As a reminder, funding is first come, first served.
TECH Clean California Single Family Heat Pump Water Heater Incentive Availability
As of February 24, 2025, TECH Clean California single family heat pump water heater incentives are fully reserved statewide therefore, February 24, 2025, is the last day to make sales and create reservations.
As of January 17, 2025, TECH Clean California single family heat pump water heater incentives are fully reserved for non-SMUD POU customers (e.g. City of Palo Alto, LAWDP, Roseville Electric, Silicon Valley Power, etc.) and any customers whose homes don’t fall within the 2022 California Plumbing Code first hour rating table - e.g. homes with 7+ bedrooms or 4+ bathrooms, etc. ); therefore, January 17, 2025, is the last day to make sales and create reservations. Funding is first come, first served.
Technology and Equipment for Clean Heating (TECH) Clean California is a $120 million program aimed at driving the market adoption of low-emissions space and water heating technologies for existing single and multifamily homes across California to help advance the state’s mission to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045. TECH Clean California is funded by California gas corporation ratepayers under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.
